What does Bali & Bollywood have in common – My trip to Bali, Indonesia -Day 2 memories

Ready for an exciting day ahead at Kuta ?

A bit about Kuta : It is administratively a district (kecamatan) and subdistrict/village (kelurahan) in southern Bali, Indonesia.[1] A former fishing village, it was one of the first towns on Bali to see substantial tourist development, and as a beach resort remains one of Indonesia’s major tourist destinations. It is known internationally for its long sandy beach, varied accommodation, many restaurants and bars, and many renowned surfers who visit from Australia. We couldn’t catch the rising sun ..At the breakfast table we caught the high tide oceanic waters kissing the beach shore with a slight roar.

What a pleasant morning with birds chirping. There was a peculiar rooster that kept “doodling” during  wee hours at 5 am till late evening 4 pm !!

Probably it’s body clock had stopped responding to nature’s clock ,lol !

We made a refreshing Nescafé and some Britannia fruit cake in the room .

By 12 pm Indonesia time ,the taxi driver came to fetch us  and were out on our way towards Kuta.

What does Bali & Bollywood have in common – Shah Rukh Khan!

Shahrukh Khan, who is also referred to as SRK, was born on 2nd November 1965. To date, he has acted in 77 films, almost all of which have been successful in India. Moreover, many of his films have crossed international borders and are widely viewed in various countries with large followers , not the least in Indonesia. Films such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Mohabbatein, Om Shanti Om, Asoka and Don were among the most successful and phenomenal films in the history of Bollywood.

SRK fans you have major competition because Bali folks the crowd here is crazy about King khan. Amitabh Bachan is an old man but they still remember ” Kal Ho na ho “.

KlungKung has presence of a Royal palace that belonged to the king of this regency .it seems very few members of the Royal family that belonged to this palace are still living however the Government is in power.

Whilst the original palace, built in 1710, was ruin by the Dutch in 1908, a recreation now exists that pays homage to Bali’s™ past. Today those on Bali holidays will find a destination that offers a beautiful blending of nature and architecture. (Source :Top-sights-to-see-during-bali-holidays/)

We reached Kuta reminded me of the crowded streets of Kraabi or Phuket where the beach restaurants but was unusual that there was an air conditioned mall – Discovery Mall which starts on a busy street once you walk the other side of the mall bingo you reach the beach side !!

And every human being we bumped into would ask us -You from India?

Shah Rukh Khan ! Good actor.Nice movies. They named movies like Baazigar to Kal Ho Na Ho …for a moment..I was wondering what if Shah Rukh was really around in Bali !?

Here is something interesting I wanted to share :

It was too hot and walking shore side was not a good idea so we ate some good Indian vegetarian ( you heard it right ) at “Seagara” Sea Food Asian Grill Resto and Bar.

A note to all vegetarians – do not avoid entering Sea Food Asian Grills because there is lot of room to eat your favorite food in  a customized manner ! We had yummy Veg fried rice and converted a chicken curry based to tofu and mushroom curry 🙂

Ended it with Häagen-Dazs ice cream !

We had done art and souvenir shopping therapy so it was rightfully and well deserved 🙂

What a way to end a superb lunch at Kuta Beach!

So now it was 4:30 pm by the time we reached the taxi to head to Ulu Watu to witness the most awaited mesmerizing sunset phenomena.

We reached Uluwatu at about 5:30 pm and had sufficient time to walk upto the temple and reach the cliff from where we could watch the sun set . We were  lucky to an extent to  get a location to take good pics even though the sky was cloudy we managed to capture the slow process and exit to Kuta at sharp 6:30 to continue shopping and early dinner. 178428_10201283471862136_189296612_o

We ended up eating some Roti O Buns for dinner as we headed back to Candidasa.

Day 3 – Plans had a chill down the spine filled with excitement ahead!
